Does this app work on an iPad? Well, yes and no because there are different kinds of iPads: WiFi-iPads without a GPS receiver, and so-called “3G-iPads” with a sim-card, mobile internet (which is where the “3G” comes from, meaning it has nothing to do with the iPad generation in terms of whether you have an iPad 1,2,3) and a GPS receiver. The latter are the only ones you can use GPS Navigation 2 with, because your device needs a GPS receiver in order to allow the app to locate your position. Furthermore, even if you have offline maps (so no mobile internet is necessary), a Wi-Fi-iPad won’t be able to follow your position.
We know that the missing postcode search, especially in the UK, is a big issue and we are really sorry for that. For postcode search you need a huge database that OSM unfortunately does not have as of yet, due to the fact that the only alternative (buying the data from external sources) would make the app much more expensive (which of course we don’t want). So, needless to say, it’s kind of a vicious circle, but rest assured knowing that we are aware of the problem and are doing our best to improve it as soon as possible.
